Home improvement

This week Loes is on a short trip to Germany. We took this opportunity to have some work done on our home, the walls are going to be plastered and painted and later this month, hopefully, were getting a new floor. It was about time. We’ve lived here for nearly 10 years and always hated the current tiles on the floor, white with a little ’thingy’ in it to hide dirt and stuff. Very ugly. The new floor is made of PVC but looks like wood. I know, if you read it like this you’d might think: FAKE, but it looks awesome, it really does.

And it’s a good thing Loes isn’t here: the house is a mess, all the furniture is stacked on one end of the living room, covered with plastic wraps, and there’s tools laying everywhere. So I’m eating breakfast on a small corner of the kitchen, don’t know what to do with dinner yet. But it’s all for a good cause. I sure do hope the guys finish by thursday, so I’ll have a day of cleaning. We’ll see, this time we are staying in the mess until everything is finished, our other home improvement projects would usually take a few months if not years….

Using the Youtube API

WARNING: this is a technical post, you might not be interested in this one 😉

In research for a project I tried out the Youtube API, and am very enthusiastic about the API. Within a few hours I was able to pull all of my own youtube videos to my own site (a test site in this case). I could also get a list of videos with a specific keyword. And that’s just the beginning, I haven’t explored all options yet, but it’s a powerful API. I’ll leave it at this, if you’re interested, drop me a line…
